Sticking to the original plan after decommitting last year, Class of 2010 PF C.J. Leslie(ESPNU 100: #11) will stay in Raleigh, NC where he attends Word of God (NC) and attend North Carolina State. The 6'8" Leslie, a local product, is unlike other players at his position in his class. He has superb athleticism which he uses to his advantage on almost every possession. An excellent defensive rebounder, he can automatically start a fast break due to his stellar ability in transition. Long-limbed and agile, Leslie runs like a gazelle. He jumps like he's on a pogo stick and will send the oppositions shot attempt into the stands because of his timing and shot blocking expertise. Usually creating matchup problems on offense, Leslie will face up against a bigger player and blow past them or back down a smaller player, either way he makes sure he gets to the basket. His ability at getting to the basket, just like other elite players, allows him to draw fouls and get to the free throw line often. Leslie originally committed to NC State his junior year but decommitted once he realized other high tier schools showed interest. Along with newcomers, Class of 2010 PG Ryan Harrow (ESPNU 100: #39) G Lorenzo Brown and senior F Tracy Smith, NC State should take head coach Sidney Lowe to his first NCAA Tournament. Leslie chose NC State over Kentucky, Florida, and UConn.
