Looking to salvage his career with a new team, the seven time all-star Tracy McGrady recently worked out for the L.A. Clippers. Clippers GM Neil Olshey was brief in his assessment. "The workout/visit went well," he said. "Tracy will continue to explore his options as will we." Tracy McGrady, who has been in the league for 13 years now, has never played in a full 82 game season. He was once a top five player in this league but his career has been derailed by injuries over the past few years. His career averages of 21.5 ppg and 6.0 rpg reflect the player he once was, and off the strength of that he will get another look. However, at this stage of the game, McGrady needs to sign with a team that only needs him to produce in limited minutes. His brief stint with the Knicks last season showed he could still score, but it appears that his brittle body can’t withstand the rigors of an NBA game anymore. If the Clippers don't pan out for McGrady, the Chicago Bulls are also reportedly interested in his services as well. |
