A few weeks after committing to Big East powerhouse Villanova, New Jersey point guard Tyrone Johnson (ESPNU 100: #57) will take his services to Montrose Christian (MD) as he decides to leave Plainfield High (NJ). The decision is strictly basketball related as he believes that the Maryland school will better prepare him for college and taking his game to another level. Johnson has emerged as one of the top rated guards in the class of 2011. His stellar play this summer along side the nations number one prospect Michael Gilchrist, caught the eye of many college coaches, but Johnson chose to be apart of Jay Wrights four guard attack and head to Villanova. The Russell Westbrook look alike posted a stat line of 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists last season. Montrose always plays a stacked national schedule so the speedy point man will be tested from day one. contributed by Hoopnallovadaworld |
